Salt City

Note: This project was developed for Hype Jam 2021 which is a game jam for trailer making.  This project is a trailer only. 

Along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean sits Salt City, a charming boardwalk and the #12 tourist destination in the state.  The boardwalk is lined with shops and stalls of all kinds, each more appealing than the last. Along the end of the boardwalk, and bleeding onto the pier, is a wonderful fairground, known for filling the air with an almost never-ending stream of sounds and smells. At the base of the boardwalk lies a near-perfect sandy beach that slowly fades into the horizonless ocean. It’s the perfect getaway for everyone and anyone! Well, anyone except our young detective.  

She’s spent every summer down here with her dad, who runs the Salt Water Taffy Shop. She has seen the sights and done everything there is to do, and now she’s just bored and looking for something new to do. And so, she finds herself looking for clues as she sets off to be the best P.I. this tourist trap has ever seen! Together with her newfound friend, Benny, there’s no mystery too big or small! And despite their age, they’ve managed to solve some pretty significant cases! The case of the missing Lucky Beach Towel, The case of the lost Bracelet, and even the case of the crumbled castle!

But when Benny goes missing, this young gumshoe will unravel her biggest mystery yet! Mind wipes? Eerie movements in the night? Hidden codes? Strange boats at sea? Each discovery leads her closer to the truth and closer to the danger that lies just beneath the surface of Salt City!
